Tips for Writing a Successful Property Listing

 

Attracting a Potential Buyer

Be Concise: What makes a property listing attractive to potential renters or buyers and encourages them to pursue more information about the property?  It is simply telling the reader what they want to hear and making them curious enough to learn more.  Most people will immediately want to know the price of the property (either the rental rates or the selling price), the location of the property, and the number of bedrooms and bathrooms.  In addition, your listing should provide other key elements of the property, especially any thing that would make your property distinct from other listings, for example: oceanfront views, a pool and spa, etc.  While it is important to indicate these key features of the property, it is also important not to clutter the listing with every feature you believe is wonderful about your property.  The idea is to write a listing that is descriptive, while remaining short and to the point

Upload Great Photos: While words help describe the distinct features and amenities of your property, photos often times are the best marketing tool you can offer to potential renters/ buyers.  Since each property is unique in its own way, it is beneficial to post pictures of the most desired features of your property.  At the very least, most people are interested in pictures of the interior decor (including the master bedroom, the kitchen, and the living area) and exterior amenities (including the pool and view of the beach / ocean/ lake, etc.).  Also, take pictures of any additional features of your unit, including any game rooms, nightclubs, balcony views, etc.

     Remember the more information you provide, the better!

  • The listing includes Price, Location and Number of Bed/Bath Rooms

  • The Listing is Concise and Direct

  • The tagline includes the location of the property

  • While precise, the listing provides enough descriptive information

  • Quality photos of your properties most distinguishing features are posted

  • All of your units amenities, property features and nearby attractions are included

  • Be creative!
